Our mission is to redefine what good HR consultancy looks like, and go beyond compliance and convention to innovate and straightforward solutions that genuinely make your workplace more productive and profitable.

I’ve been in HR since 2001 starting as an HR Assistant in the public sector and finally ending up as an HR Director in the Private Sector before leaving to run my own consultancy business full time, having been allowed to build it up slowly in the background whilst still employed in house. Being a business owner too has given me more commercial insights and into how organisations are run than if I’d just been employed in, in house HR roles.

Over my career I’ve worked across every area of HR but have particular specialisms in UK Employment Law, Pay and Benefits benchmarking and job evaluation, HR IT systems, Training and Development and People Strategy. I’ve worked across many sectors and pride myself on providing straight forward, easy to understand, no nonsense advice. I’m also not afraid to help my clients take calculated risks to make things as quick and painless as possible when it comes to dealing with their people issues.

I’m passionate about showing CEO’s/MD’s/Founders the positive difference having a trusted People function can make to their organisation, and am keen to break away from some of the stereotypes of bad HR that people may have experienced in the past. I want to take an outsourced HR Service beyond firefighting and compliance to real proactivity and transformation of workplaces for the better – so people don’t leave to work for the competition.

My Values

When I started looking at my business I thought about who I’d looked up to and admired and respected in the past. I realised that all my real life and fictional heroes and heroines had one thing in common – they were positive disruptors.

 

That is, they didn’t accept conventional wisdom and went about doing things their own way, whilst changing their environment for the better.

Honesty

I will listen carefully to you when you need me to. I will tell you what you need to know rather than what you want to hear if I think it will protect you and your organisation.

Acceptance

I will celebrate and respect people who are different to me, but will always look to find common ground and connection.

Disruptor

I will not do HR by the book for the sake of it. I will look at things objectively and constantly look for better/different/alternative ways of doing things rather than just following a process…provided it’s legal and benefits your organisation.

Reliability

I do what I say when I say it will be done by. I show up. I will manage your expectations and communicate clearly with you.

Trustworthy

I will be efficient with my time and your money. I will give you the best, commercially focussed advice and support I can to help your organisation flourish. But in return you need to be up front and honest with me about what’s going on in your world. I will do the right thing even when no one else is looking.
